“Unlike warfarin, NOACs do not interact with other medications”


NOACs have fewer potential interactions with other medicines compared with warfarin, however there remain certain drug-drug interactions for each NOAC that should be investigated prior to initiation. 1-4 Key interactions which should be considered include: antifungal agents, rifampicin, phenytoin, anti-retrovirals, anti-epileptic medication and anti-rejection medication.
